During the Coronavirus outbreak we are happy to take prescription request over the telephone. Please contact the surgery with your list of items required and have your request ready for the admin team to save time on our phone lines.
Our usual system will resume when our current situation resolves.
If you are receiving regular medication the doctor will give you a computer copy of your medication. Please tick the items you need and return the copy to the surgery. Please allow two working days before collection. If you are ordering by post please ensure you enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
You can also order your prescription online by clicking on the link at the top of this page.
To use this service you need to request a user name and password. This has to be done in person at the surgery. Based on the requirements of GPG45, presentation of two pieces of level 3 identity or 1 piece of level 3 and 1 piece of level 2, in either case, one piece of evidence must include a photograph, please contact the surgery if you need any further information.
Home delivery services are available from a number of local chemists, please check with them to confirm you are eligible for this service.
Electronic Prescribing Service
This practice is set up for the electronic prescription service.
This means that for most patients we can send your prescription to your chosen chemist directly saving you having to come down to the surgery.
To get your prescription sent to your chosen pharmacy you will have to ask reception to sign up.

If you have been taking regular medication for some time you may be suitable to have your prescription set up on repeat dispensing system. This would enable you to have a number of repeat prescriptions held at the chemist of your choice and you could obtain these directly from the pharmacist until your next medication review is due.
Help with NHS costs
In England, around 90% of prescription items are dispensed free. This includes exemptions from charging for those on low incomes, such as:
- those on specific benefits or through the NHS Low Income Scheme
- those who are age exempt
- those with certain medical conditions
- More information is available at NHS Choices
These charges apply in England only. In Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales prescriptions are free of charge.
- Prescription (per item): £9.35
- 12-month prepayment certificate (PPC): £108.10
- 3-month PPC: £30.25
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC.
- Telephone advice and order line 0845 850 0030
- General Public - Buy or Renew a PPC On-line
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website.
