Our practice nurses are available to give advice, in confidence, on health problems and the prevention of illness.

Chest Problems – Asthma COPD
Managing your asthma or COPD should be an ongoing partnership and communication between yourself and your doctor or nurse. Our aim is to empower you the patient to understand and manage your condition. Emphasis is on the need for ongoing education. Not just crisis intervention, so arrange an appointment with the Practice nurse for a review of your medication and inhalers and we will help you understand more about your condition and treatment, how to monitor your symptoms and to hopefully lead as normal life as possible.
Ear Syringing
If you need ears syringing please make an appointment with the Practice Nurse, please ensure olive oil drops have been used for a minimum of 5 days prior to appointment, If your ears have been checked by the doctor then Steph our HCA can syringe them.
Minor Surgery
The surgery undertakes minor surgery procedures. You will need an appointment with any of the doctors initially so they can advise you if this would be appropriate.
Routine Consultations
If you are aged 16-75 and have not been seen by a doctor in the last 3 years we would like you to arrange a routine appointment If you are over 75years of age and have not been seen by a doctor in the last year, we would like to invite you to arrange a routine appointment.
Patient Centred Care Planning As a practice we are always trying to improve the care of our patients and to empower them to be more responsible for their own health and lifestyle choices by offering help and support, written information and signposting them to appropriate services.
For certain groups of patients, we will be doing care plans to aid improvement in overall health and well-being. For further information, you may wish to discuss this with a nurse?
Healthcare Assistants/Phlebotomists
These are available for blood tests and routine blood pressure checks, and routine monitoring under the guidance of the practice nurses, but do not offer advice on health problems or illness prevention. Any patients wishing to give up smoking can also make an appointment to discuss this with the HCA's.
Physiotherapy
The doctor may recommend a course of physiotherapy. Our clinics are held Wednesday morning.
Stop Smoking Advisor
Any patients wishing to give up smoking can also make an appointment to discuss this with the Stop Smoking Advisor.
Chiropody
It is important for people with certain conditions to take extra care with their feet. These conditions include diabetes, arthritis, some types of poor circulation and patients on warfarin medication.
Community Health
District Nurses - The District Nurses provide nursing care to patients confined to their homes
The Midwife - Jayne Barlow - Jessop's triage number 0114 2268091. We hold an ante-natal clinic on a Monday morning, If you have a positive pregnancy test, please book in to see Jayne. There is no need to see the doctor first.
The Health Visitor Sheffield patients - 0114 2337088 Rotherham patients - 01709 423388. Gives advice on health care to families, particularly those with young children or older people. Drop in clinics are available in our local area.
The health visiting team will also arrange to carry out routine child health surveillance checks
Occupation Health Advisor - Health advice is available at the practice by appointment on alternate Wednesday mornings. It is not necessary for a GP to make the referral to this service.
Mental Health Team - We currently have a Mental Health Team attached to the surgery and referrals must be made through the GP.
Counsellor - We currently have a counsellor attached to the surgery and referrals must be made via the GP.
